Best Condos for Boaters
A recent blog by my broker, Michael Saunders & Company, many of the wonderful marinas in the area were highlighted. But what if you don’t want to have to retrieve your boat when you need it? Here are some great condo locations in Sarasota and on the keys that offer residents and their boats a wonderful home.
Longboat Key
Bay Isles
Located behind the gates of the Longboat Key Club, Bay Isles features three condo communities that enjoy close proximity to the Moorings at Longboat Key Club. These buildings range in size and price but all allow owners the best of both worlds when it comes to their boats: a place for housing without the maintenance. Store your boat at the Moorings and you’re just a phone call and a stroll away from setting sail!

Concierge service is offered to assist with service and/or maintenance, fuel, and dockside pump-out service.
Fairway Bay - The most modest of the three, Fairway Bay condos run in the mid-hundred-thousands. 288 residences are housed in 3 separate buildings with shared amenities.
Marina Bay - Three 5-story buildings house 60 individual residences ranging in size from about 3000 to 4000 square feet. These condos run in the high-hundred-thousands to low-millions.
Grand Bay - Comprised of 6 buildings, these 272 residences vary greatly in size and price (from 1200 sq ft and mid-hundred-thousands to over 4000 sq ft and into the several-millions).
Downtown Sarasota
Golden Gate Point
Condos in the downtown area that have boat docking available are rare, but not on Golden Gate Point. This exclusive enclave of condominiums is poised on a peninsula at the base of the Ringling Bridge, and nearly every one of the waterfront buildings offer some type of slip or dockage. Grand Riviera, Majestic Bay, and Harbor House are all good options for beautiful and luxury residences with a place for your boat right out the back door on the water.
Condo on the Bay
Condo on the Bay is poised on one of the best plats of land for boat-lovers. The wide inlet to the east of these two eye-catching high-rises provides plenty of docks for residents’ use and the view to the west is one of the best our area has to offer. The townhome residences at Condo on the Bay offer deepwater dockage with no bridges to Sarasota Bay. This is a great option for those who want to enjoy the boating lifestyle but remain near all the amenities of downtown Sarasota.
Siesta Key
Fisherman’s Haven
Located on the quieter, southern end of Siesta Key near Turtle Beach is this 36-residence condominium. In addition to the available docking, Fisherman’s Haven allows extensive leasing throughout the year, providing a great opportunity for income when you’re not using your boating condo yourself. To the west: full views of the Gulf of Mexico and some of the most spectacular sunsets in the world. To the east: an inlet with private boating docks and ramps as well as storage for kayaks and paddle boards.
Palm Bay Club
Another great boating and income opportunity on Siesta Key is Palm Bay Club. This community of condo buildings allows frequent leasing, coveted by visitors thanks to its resort-style atmosphere with endless array of activities. In addition to the boat docks, fishing piers, yacht basin, and private clubhouse, guests and residents alike will enjoy heated swimming pools, fitness center, game rooms, and tennis courts.
